About Us

Who We Are

At LaFayette First WEE Care, we are committed to provide high quality child care in a safe and nurturing environment to your child.  Our teachers are highly trained and committed to provide an environment that focuses on the individual child to stimulate social, cognitive, physical, and emotional growth.  All of our teachers must have a teaching certificate or higher education, CPR/First-Aid certified, and complete yearly training.

To ensure the safety of your child, the use of surveillance cameras are in each classroom and main entrance door.  The main entrance uses a keypad to ensure that only authorized people are allowed in the center.

WEE Care uses Pinnacle Faith Based curriculum.   Pinnacle is research-based and developmentally appropriate for each child in our care.  Pinnacle curriculum is approved by Georgia Bright from the Start as an approved curriculum for Georgia daycares.

WEE Care is licensed through Bright from the Start:  Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL)  and is a Quality Rated child care facility.

The center is organized for children from ages six weeks to four years old.

During the summer months, we offer Summer Camp for school-aged children.  At Summer Camp, the children enjoy weekly visits to the park, public library, and swimming at the city pool.

Our History

The center was opened in September of 1978 with 29 children for the purposes of providing a Christian day care program for pre-schoolers of working mothers and to serve as an outreach ministry of the church.  At that time, WEE Care accepted children between the ages of 2-5.  The after school program was added on August 5, 1981.  The program continued continued to grow and enrollment went up to 92 children in 1983.  The success of the program is due primarily to the competent work of the current and former staff members.  The program has more than met the two purposes for which it was started.

As Christian child care-givers, we believe in the divine creation of human life and that every human being was created for a purpose.  It is essential that high standards of excellence be set in helping children develop their mental, emotional, social, physical and spiritual capacities regardless of ethnic background.  It is through these standards an equal educational opportunity is provided for all children placed in our care.

The Center Insignia was designed and copyrighted by the Southern Baptist Convention and made available to all child care organizations of Southern Baptist Churches.  The insignia exemplifies two aspects of child care.  W.E.E. LEARN is the educational emphasis (W.E.E. stands for Weekday Early Education) and CHILD CENTER is the emphasis on caring for a child’s day to day needs.
